Your journey to a beautiful new space

We know that adding an orangery, conservatory or extension is a big decision. So is investing in new or replacement windows and doors. You’re investing in your home and your family’s future, so it’s important to understand exactly what the process involves.

At the Little Conservatory Company, we believe in complete transparency. From the moment you get in touch to the day we hand over your finished space (and beyond), we’ll guide you through every step. This page explains our process, typical timings and what you can expect along the way.

consultation

Getting in touch with us

The first step is simply reaching out. Whether you call us, fill in our online contact form or request a brochure, we’ll respond quickly to arrange a convenient time to chat. There’s no pressure at this stage – we’re here to listen to your ideas, answer your initial questions and help you understand what’s possible.

Many customers come to us with a vision but aren’t sure about planning, budgets or timescales. That’s absolutely fine. This conversation helps us understand what you’re hoping to achieve and whether we’re the right fit for your project.

Your design consultation and quotation

Once you’re ready, we’ll arrange a home visit at a time that suits you. One of our experienced designers will come to see your property, discuss your lifestyle needs and talk through design options. We’ll take measurements, assess your existing space and explore different styles that complement your home.

Following this consultation, we’ll prepare a detailed quotation with clear costings and a proposed timeline. You’ll have plenty of time to consider everything, ask more questions and make any adjustments before moving forward.

Installation and project management

When you’re happy to proceed, we’ll finalise the design and handle any necessary planning applications or building regulations on your behalf. Before work begins, we’ll provide a clear schedule so you know what to expect. Our skilled installation team will arrive on time, work respectfully in your home and keep disruption to a minimum.

We’ll update you regularly throughout the build, and our project manager remains your single point of contact. The installation timeline varies depending on your project’s size and complexity, but we’ll give you accurate timescales from the start.

Ongoing support and aftercare

Your relationship with us doesn’t end when the installation is complete. We carry out a thorough handover, explaining how everything works and answering any questions about maintaining your new space. All our work comes with comprehensive guarantees for your peace of mind. Should you need us for any reason after installation, our aftercare team is just a phone call away.

We’re proud of the lasting relationships we build with customers, and many homeowners return to us for additional projects or recommend us to friends and family.

Frequently Asked Questions

Here are answers to some of the questions homeowners often ask about working with us.

Contact Us

How long does the whole process typically take?

From initial consultation to completed installation, most projects take between 8-12 weeks, though this varies depending on design complexity and whether planning permission is required. We’ll provide a specific timeline for your project during the quotation stage.

Do I need planning permission for my conservatory or orangery?

Many projects fall under permitted development rights and don’t require planning permission, but this depends on your property and location. We’ll assess this during our home visit and handle all necessary applications on your behalf if required.

What happens if the weather delays installation?

We carefully plan around weather conditions, but if unexpected delays occur, we’ll keep you fully informed and adjust the schedule accordingly. Your project manager will always communicate any changes promptly so you’re never left wondering what’s happening.

Will I have the same contact person throughout?

Yes, you’ll have a dedicated project manager who coordinates everything from design approval through to installation completion. They’re your main point of contact and will be available to answer questions throughout your journey with us.

What guarantees do you offer on your work?

All our installations come with comprehensive guarantees covering both materials and workmanship. Specific warranty details vary depending on the products chosen, and we’ll explain exactly what’s covered during your consultation so there are no surprises.
