As a naturally insulating material, timber provides excellent thermal performance while being sustainable. The versatility of timber allows us to craft completely bespoke designs with intricate detailing, custom profiles, and endless finishing options. Unlike other materials, timber ages gracefully and can be easily maintained, refinished, or updated to evolve with your home over time.
Our timber orangeries are constructed using time-tested joinery techniques and premium, sustainably sourced hardwoods that are naturally durable and weather-resistant.
Combined with our strategic use of Accoya timber in exposed areas and robust weatherseals, your orangery is built to withstand the elements and provide decades of reliable performance with minimal maintenance required.

Contact UsOriginally built to house citrus trees (like oranges!) during colder months, orangeries differ from conservatories in their structure. Orangeries typically have a solid brick base with large windows, offering more insulation than a mostly-glass conservatory. Most orangeries today feature a flat roof with a roof lantern to allow for plenty of natural light.
A wooden orangery is a luxurious extension to your property, crafted with sustainable hardwood for a timeless appeal. It provides a perfect space for relaxation and entertainment, tailored to your preferences with customisation options like decorative features, glazing choices, and door styles. Designed for thermal efficiency, a timber orangery offers comfort all year round while enhancing the natural beauty of your surroundings.
At The Little Conservatory Company, we specialise in creative living spaces, meaning that we pride ourselves on creating bespoke spaces with plenty of customisation options. Your new orangery can be customised with our wide range of new windows and doors, as well as finish and hardware options.
In most cases, planning permission is not necessary for timber orangeries because adding one to your home is usually allowed under the new ‘permitted development’ rules (subject to certain conditions). Terraced and semi-detached homes can make additions up to six metres without planning permission whilst detached houses can now add large structures up to eight metres without permission as demonstrated.
To learn about planning regulations in the UK or if you would like to apply for planning permission or make a building control application contact our team for more information.
At The Little Conservatory Company, we work closely with our clients across Gloucester, Oxfordshire & Wocestershire to design and install bespoke oak orangeries. Our collaborative approach ensures every detail reflects your vision, from the colour and finish of the timber used, to doors and glazing options. The result is a luxurious space that is the perfect extension of your property, providing a place to relax or entertain.
