An orangery is a room which is often labelled as a 'home extension' that can be used in the same way a conservatory can. Orangeries offer homeowners the chance to extend their living space in style whilst offering styling and design that is different from your typical conservatory. Orangeries have become increasingly popular; they offer a great all year round living space full of natural light due to the glazed lantern installed in the flat roof. Our stunning orangery designs are an ideal extension to be used for multiple purposes such as; kitchens, dining rooms or sunrooms.
Internally the glazed lantern roof usually becomes the most stunning feature of the entire building. Create space for that extended Kitchen, Dining room or Sun lounge. Our Orangeries are bespoke and designed to your individual specification. We can have our fabricators create your dream space in your choice of material - Timber, uPVC or Aluminium. The external appearance of the orangery can be designed to suit both the customer's tastes and the local built environment. The range of colours, styles and configurations are limitless.
The Little Conservatory Company offers a free consultation to discuss designs, and can also produce a 3D CAD drawing to illustrate the design.
The use of roof lights and roof lanterns as a means of incorporating light into a dark room or space has been used for many years. Our Roof lights (supplied by Atlas and Ultraframe) are available in contemporary style or elaborate in-period layout. They can be built to any size and specification the customer requires and offer a cost-effective way to brighten up any room. Please take a look at the brochures below for further details.
Crafted using only the finest timber, all our timber Orangeries add a feeling of quality and luxury. We can customise details and fixtures to suit your needs, and with our stylish feature windows, stunning roof lanterns and sleek bi-fold doors, our orangeries capture the natural light with dramatic effect, turning the additional space into a warm and inviting area to relax and entertain.
Our Hardwood Orangeries are built only from the finest grade hardwoods such as Sapele, Idigbo and Oak.
In most cases, planning permission is not necessary for Orangeries because adding one to your home is usually allowed under the new 'permitted development' rules (subject to certain conditions).
Terraced and semi-detached homes can make additions up to 6 meters without planning permission whilst detached houses can now add large structures up to 8 meters without permission as demonstrated. (The red shaded area on the diagram shows the old 4-meter limit, but this is now 8 meters (as of May 2019)).
Note: Should you wish to build a double story extension - you will require planning permission.

Paul recently replaced the fascia and sofit boards all around my house and repaired the concrete in my drive. He was very good, a very pleasant man to get along with and the price was certainly less than I was expecting. He did a quick, decent job with no mess left. I would certainly use him again in the future.

Paul was great - he finished my conservatory and downstairs toilet on schedule and always was very clear about what he was doing and when. He consulted me throughout the building process to make sure I was happy. I would have no hesitation in recommending the Little Conservatory Company to anyone.
