Our solid roof conservatories offer the perfect solution to creating extended living spaces that can be used during all seasons. Instead of the traditional glazed or polycarbonate roof conservatories, our solid roof conservatories are far more energy-efficient than a typical conservatory. Our tiled roof conservatories are up to 15 times more thermally efficient than older polycarbonate roofs.
Our solid roof conservatories essentially offer a middle ground between a conventional extension and a glazed conservatory. These are conservatories with solid panels or tiled roofs providing a robust extension feel, yet with the light and airy environment of a conservatory.
From the outside, our solid roofs are aesthetically pleasing and some roofing systems, such as 'WARMroof', will even integrate with traditional slate or concrete tiles providing a direct match for your home. But they also produce a wide range of tiles in various colours and finishes to allow your new conservatory to blend seamlessly too.
If you are worried about losing light in comparison to a regular conservatory there are several options to add Velux roof lights or even fixed 28mm or 44mm glazed panels to flood your living space with light. Plus with the addition of an internal pelmet detail, not only will your extended living space feel more homely, but you will also have the option to add down-lighters, speakers or affix blinds and curtains. With the addition of bi-folding doors, you can help bring the outside in helping to maximise your living space.
Here at the Little Conservatory Company we design, supply and install a selection of solid-roof systems from Ultraframe, Aluk and WARMroof. Each system is designed to withstand hurricane-force winds / and be load-bearing should there be heavy snowfall.
If you’re interested in a solid roof conservatory similar to those pictured above, simply use the form at the bottom of the page or call us (01242 681207) and we can provide you with expert advice and a quote, whether it’s for a replacement roof, an existing conservatory or a newly installed home extension. In addition to the installation of solid roof conservatories, we can also assist with the entire architecture/design process, planning permission and building regulations (if required).
We can handle the entire process of a conservatory build - from the initial designs and concepts using 3D CAD software (to help understand how your conservatory will look and function) through to assisting with planning/building notices (if required) and finally all construction work.
99% of the time we save our customers time and money by bringing the entire process under one roof. It also makes the entire process hassle-free for our customers!
In most cases, planning permission is not necessary for a conservatory because adding one to your home is usually allowed under the new 'permitted development' rules (subject to certain conditions).
Terraced and semi-detached homes can make additions up to 6 metres without planning permission whilst detached houses can now add large structures up to 8 metres without permission as demonstrated. (The red shaded area on the diagram used to be the previous 4 metre limit, but this is now 8 metres (as of May 2019)).
To learn about planning regulations in the UK or if you would like to apply for planning permission / make a building control application please visit the government-backed website 'Planning Portal'. Of course, you can always ask our team if you have any questions also.

Paul was very thorough in doing his work, checking everything to make sure we got what we wanted and to avoid any confusion. Even during the build he would ask us before going ahead with anything that had alternatives. Very impressed, and would certainly use his services again.

Very happy with our new conservatory which was fitted over a weekend - which is unheard of in the building trade. Excellent quality and the wooden effect window compliments the original house design perfectly.
